With 40 volumes.. The Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs is working to document the biography of Qamar Bani Hashim (peace be upon him)

The Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs, through the specialized studies center in Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), affiliated with the Library and the House of Manuscripts of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, is working to document the biography of Qamar Bani Hashim; Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), and all that has been written about him.

The director of the center, Sheikh Mahmoud al-Safi, said that "the general secretariat of the Al-Abbas's(p) holy shrine decided to transform the Unit of Authorship and Studies, which specialized in printing some scientific and literary works, the most important of which is related to Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) in Arabic poetry, to a Specialized Studies Center in the same matter."

He added: "We started collecting everything related to Qamar Bani Hashim (peace be upon him) in literature and documents, until we were able to issue approximately (20) volumes with different titles, and (14) volumes under the title of the Encyclopedia of Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), gathering the writing of a number of prominent writers, sheikhs and researchers."

As for the purpose of the Encyclopedia, al-Safi explained, "We wanted to show that Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas(peace be upon him) was not only a figure who was known and stood out in the Al-Taff tragedy, but that he was under the shadow of four infallible imams, namely his father, the Commander of the Faithful, Imam al-Hassan, Imam al-Hussayn, and Imam Zayn al-Abideen (peace be upon them all)."

"We found many of the exploits of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) and his blessed biography scattered in the many books and narrations, so we extracted them and issued those bearing his name," he continued.

Regarding the future work of the center, al-Safi said, "We aspire at the center to bring this encyclopedia to 40 volumes, by collecting articles that were written about Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) in newspapers and magazines, and it will be published in the encyclopedia in seven volumes".
