Patient gets back on her feet thanks to a successful operation at the Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital

A medical team at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital in Karbala succeeded in restoring movement to the lower limbs of a patient, after performing surgery on her.

"We performed a successful surgery to stabilize the vertebrae and modify the deviation of the spine of a 43-year-old patient, who was suffering from severe pain in the lower extremities and the inability to walk normally," said Dr. Khaled al-Sarraj, a specialist in neurosurgery at the hospital.
"After carrying out the necessary tests, it was found that she had multiple slips in the spine, which necessitated stabilizing the vertebrae and implanting artificial cartilage to the patient," he added.

The patient left the hospital in good health after the operation and regained movement, according to al-Sarraj, stressing that "the patient will undergo intensive medical monitoring until she makes a full recovery".
