The Structural Engineering Laboratory is considered one of the most important installations affiliated to the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine in the construction of urban edifices, as it contains the latest advanced devices that lead to the precision of the accomplished, which led to some official governmental and private agencies resorting to the holy shrine, for the purpose of conducting laboratory tests on building materials included in their projects, which prompted the projects department to make developments in the laboratory, which is currently classified as one of the most important facilities specialized in this field.
The director of the structural laboratory of the Engineering Projects Department, Eng. Ammar al-Yasari, said: "The Building Materials Laboratory checks the cubes of concrete, bricks, carbon, and thermstone, in addition to the materials of muqarnas, stalker, ceramics and alabaster, and all that is directly involved in construction work, including rebar."
He added: "A highly skilled staff work in the building and construction laboratory, who have entered into a group of development courses and workshops, in order to gain sufficient experience to work on the devices in the laboratory, which are the latest in Iraq and the region."
It is noteworthy that the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine sought to achieve self-sufficiency in order to complete all elements of success, especially in the context of engineering projects that directly reflect on the service reality of the city of Karbala in general, and projects of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine in particular.
