(The Slaughtered at the Euphrates) a short feature film produced by the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine

The Media Department at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has completed the production of a short feature film entitled (The Skaughtered at the Euphrates).

The director of the film; Mr. Azhar Khamis, said that "the film was based on a true story written in the Forties of the last century, by a British novelist who talked about how the sky rained blood in 685 A.D., which corresponds to the year 61 Hijra, the same year in which Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) was martyred."

"I found that the Al-Kafeel Center for Artistic Production of the Media Department is able to produce a short feature film about this incident, and I actually started filming after completing the preparations that lasted for two weeks," he added.

He pointed out that "the film was shot in the historical Al-Akhidar Fort in the holy city of Karbala, and actor Asaad Abdul Majid was chosen to be its hero, and Mr. Mohammed al-Shammari as the director of photography".
