Service Affairs Department: afforestation of Karbala entrances is carried out by specialized teams

The Department of Service affairs at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine confirmed that the afforestation of the entrances of the holy city of Karbala and the Old City is carried out by specialized teams that undertake follow-up and maintenance work throughout the year.

The official of the afforestation unit, Raad Mughaimish Hzeyran, told The News Center that "the group of Al-Kafeel Nurseries affiliated with the department, started planting the entrances of the holy city of Karbala and the Old City within the afforestation project adopted by the holy shrine 11 years ago".

He added that" the type of trees that have been planted are (Egyptian Acacia), (Albizia), (Saligna) and (flame tree), "explaining that "the afforestation of the entrances to Karbala and the Old City is carried out by specialized teams that follow up through watering and pruning throughout the year".

Regarding the process of pruning trees, he explained "some trees are pruned on a monthly basis and others at the beginning of winter, and there are types of trees that are pruned at the beginning of spring".
