The Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs organises an introductory workshop for the staffs of the Basra University Library

The Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, through its Digital Information Center, held an introductory and training workshop for the staff of the Central Library at the University of Basra on the mechanism of electronic archiving.

The director of the center, Mr. Ammar al-Jawad, said that "the workshop was prepared for the purpose of familiarizing the staff of the Central Library at the University of Basra with the mechanism and methods of archiving and explaining its technical details".

"In the workshop, we explained how to deal with laser discs, which include scientific research, theses and dissertations, for postgraduate studies located in the university library, and the methods of archiving and preserving them,"he added.


The special digital archiving project was completed at several institutions, including Al-Nahrain University, the Iraqi National House of Books and Documents, as well as the University of Basra, according to Al-Jawad.
