At the University of Baghdad, Public Relations Department organizes the eighth Siddiqa Kubra festival

The Department of Public Relations at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, in cooperation with the colleges of education and Science for girls at the University of Baghdad organized the eighth annual festival of as-Siddiqa al-Kubra; Lady Fatima az-Zahra (peace be upon her).

The representative of the holy shrine; Dr. Ahmed al-Sheikh, said in a speech that "the festival seeks to go further and deeper, by seeking to mix religious and Hawza visions with academic visions in order to conclude with the intellectual, moral and cultural contents embodied by Lady az-Zahra (peace be upon her)".

He added that "the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine strives to invest these religious events in order to crystallize a scientific and methodological humanitarian discourse, especially in universities and academic institutes, this discourse targets students to immunize them from the effects of the Satanic discourse led by evil forces in the world, taking advantage of its possession of money, modern technology and media, propaganda and military dominance."

The festival also witnessed a speech by the president of the University of Baghdad; Dr. Munir al-Saadi, in which he spoke about the greatness of Lady az-Zahra (peace be upon her) and said, "We are gathering today with the blessing of Lady Fatima az-Zahra (peace be upon her), who undoubtedly represents a role model and is the closest people to the messenger of Allah Mohammad (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household), as she attended with him on occasions and accompanied him even in the Battle of the trench, and it is necessary to be guided by the messenger of Allah, Fatima az-Zahra and Imam Ali (peace be upon them) and be adorned with their morals".

The festival will last for three days, during which a number of events will be held, including an academic research on Lady Fatima az-Zahra (peace be upon her) by Mr. Adnan Gelokhan, book exhibitions held by the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs and the Department of Islamic and Humanitarian Knowledge Affairs, pictures of the Al-Kafeel Museum of Treasures and Manuscripts, Al-Kafeel Youth Cultural Stations for Iraqi university students, poetry and religious stanzas, theas-Siddiqa al-Kubra contest, and cultural dialogue seminars.
