Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital opened, on Thursday, a specialized center for the examination of cancerous tumors and heart and brain diseases using the (Pet-Ct scan) device, in the presence of His Eminence the Senior Official of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; Sayed Ahmad al-Safi, and its secretary general, Sayed Mustafa Mortadha Dea' Uddin.

The opening of the center took place in the Lulu'a medical complex of the hospital in the holy city of Karbala.

The director of the hospital; Dr. Jassim Saeed al-Brahimi, said in a speech during the ceremony, "we are proud that the province of Karbala is proud of this tremendous medical progress, having become one of the most advanced diagnostic devices in the world, in the form of an outpatient clinic," indicating that "this device shows the interest of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine in the advancement of distinctive medical technology, which the citizen needs in diagnosis and treatment and to facilitate the work of doctors and specialists, which reflects positively on the health of society."

Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital has been attracting Iraqi doctors and engineers, and relied on them and added to this effort another effort through which Excellence will be achieved and the fruit will ripen, which is caring for the patient and his family, and improving the relationship between the patient and the Iraqi doctor, which has been greatly damaged, and one of the most important aspects of this care is respect, punctuality, commitment, speed in implementation, accuracy and compassionate communication before, during and after the service, according to the hospital director.

In turn, Dr. Ahmad Kanaan, a nuclear medicine specialist at the hospital, said in a speech during the opening ceremony, "the idea of Karbala being the Medical capital of Iraq, as well as the capital of medical and health tourism in the region, has emerged in the medical sector, because we feel the availability of objective and subjective qualifications found in the government and private sectors".

He added that "the humanitarian and moral values of the medical staff in the holy city of Karbala in various sectors qualifies us to make this requirement around the corner, as thousands of medical, health, administrative and support staff, with their various addresses in various sectors, serve millions of visitors for tens of days tirelessly, without boredom or discrimination of nationality or religion and without any material reward, and these data confirm and reassure that the project of the Medical capital of Iraq is achievable, especially since the logistical capabilities exist".

Kanaan expressed his hope that the Lulu'a Center for the (Pet-Ct) scan will be a step on the ambitious ladder of the Medical capital, for two reasons: the first is the patients targeted in these accurate examinations, and the second is that the device is the latest at the level of Iraq and the world, because it is the latest innovations aimed at helping patients with cancerous tumors, heart and brain".
