The first annual conference on Sustainable Development Goals, organized by the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine in partnership with the Ministry of Planning, concluded on Thursday evening at Al-Ameed University.
The conferences proposed a number of recommendations, including emphasizing the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals, which are integrated goals that should be dealt with as a single set, for the purposes of development in Iraq, taking into account the cultural nature of Iraqi society.

The recommendations made by the head of the Development and Sustainable Development Department; Dr. Mohammed Hassan Jaber, stated that "at the provincial level in Iraq, attention should be paid to the spatial and social advantage of each province, and focus on the goals and objectives related to the nature of the place, and the activity specific to each province".

The recommendations included the need to adopt the success stories of Sustainable Development at the level of various sectors (private and public sectors) and civil society organizations, as well as to emphasize increasing the contribution of various ministries in applied experiments to achieve the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The set of recommendations contained a paragraph on working to support the participation of the youth in the field of sustainable development, in addition to preparing the necessary arrangements for allocating a budget commensurate with the need for sustainable development projects by the concerned authorities.
