A medical team from Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital in Karbala succeeded in saving a wounded military man from paralysis after suffering a spinal injury during duty.
The specialist in neurosurgery at the hospital; Dr. Khalid al-Sarraj said: "we performed an operation to open and stabilize the vertebrae, implant artificial cartilage, and relieve pressure on the spinal cord of a wounded member of the Iraqi army".
"The young man was injured while on duty and suffered spinal damage, compression of the spinal cord and impaired movement of his lower limbs,"he added.
The operation was successful, according to Dr. al-Sarraj," the patient regained the movement of his limbs normally, and his condition was saved in a timely manner to prevent its complication, and his health status is good, "pointing out that "this was achieved thanks to the experience of the medical team and the available means in the hospital, represented by modern and advanced medical technologies and devices."
