The procession of the people of the holy city of Karbala set off towards the city of Samarra to extend condolences on the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali al-Hadi (peace be upon him) under the auspices of the Department of Hussayni Rituals, Processions and Bodies in Iraq and the Islamic World affiliated with the Holy Shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon them).
The assistant head of the Department; Sayed Hashim al-Mousawi, said that "for the eighteenth year in a row, and on the sad occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam al-Hadi (peace be upon him), the Department insured the transport of the visitors and the procession of the people of the holy city of Karbala to the holy city of Samarra, to extend condolences and participate in providing services to the visitors.
He added that "the procession organized a mourning march starting from Hussayniya Karbala'iya to the Holy Shrine of Imam al-Hadi and Imam al-Askari (peace be upon them), followed by a mourning lamentation council and the provision of meals, in addition to holding the commemoration at the shrine of Sayed Mohammad (peace be upon him) in the district of Balad".
During the procession, the participants chanted slogans that showed the sadness on this memory, and when they entered the Holy Shrine, a mourning council was held that included a number of poems and elegies about this tragedy and its impact on the hearts of believers amid the attendance of large crowds of believers who participated along the procession of the people of Karbala in offering condolences.
The people of Karbala expressed their condolences to Imam al-Hujjah, may Allah Almighty hasten his Holy reappearance, and to the great scholars on the sad anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam al-Hadi (peace be upon him), stressing the continuation of the revival of the occasions of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and following their blessed approach.
