In this way the swords are preserved in the Al-Kafeel Museum of Treasures and Manuscripts

The Al-Kafeel Museum of Treasures and Manuscripts at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine maintains the swords it owns by scientific methods to preserve them.

The head of the Museum Department; Sayed Sadeq lazam al-Zaidi, said that "the task of preserving and maintaining the swords is entrusted to the Laboratory Division of the Museum, and it is called (restoration and preventive) maintenance, in which every piece is carefully cleaned from dust and oxidation accumulated on it by several scientific methods, in addition to reinstalling some worn-out parts and strengthening them by some materials that can be removed in the future if necessary".

Al-Zaidi added,"after the preservation process, the coating begins with preservative materials, to protect it from external influences in two stages, and this is called preventive maintenance of the piece, as well as the Prevention of storage preservation, which provides appropriate cabinets and conditions for the piece."

According to al-Zaidi, all this work is done by highly skilled technicians, who perform the work with high professionalism thanks to their accumulated experience and training courses in which they participated in advance.
