Unified Procession of the people of Karbala commemorates the martyrdom of Imam Al-Kadhim (peace be upon him) in the Kadhimiya holy city ..

With the hearts full of grief and sorrow, the Unified Procession of the people of Karbala started out in the holy city of Kadhimiya on Saturday evening 24 Rajab 1435AH corresponding to 24 May 2014, to commemorate the martyrdom of imam Musa Ibn Ja'far (peace be upon them) and that under the auspices of the Department of rituals, processions and bodies (in the name of imam Al-Hussayn) belonging the both Holy Shrines of imam Al-Hussayn and Al-Abbas (peace be upon them).

This condolence procession comes as a confirmation of the bonds of brotherhood that gathered the participating consolers on the love of the Noble Prophet Muhammad and his pure family ( peace be upon them ). The huge procession was thus fraught with flags and slogans of allegiance led by servants of both holy Shrines of Imam Al-Hussayn and his brother Abu Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon them) participating with their fellows, the servants of the Holy Shrine of Imam Al-Kadhim and imam Al-Jawad (peace be upon them) to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Musa Ibn Ja'far Al-Kadhim ( peace be upon him ) and to offer condolences in this sad tragedy. Hence they set up a council of condolence inside the courtyard of Imam Al-Kadhim (peace be upon him) along with the consoling crowds, with grief and sorrow expressions they mourned the poisoned prisoner, the restrainer of anger Imam Musa Ibn Ja'far ( peace be upon them ) .

Accordingly the two holy shrines of imam Al-Hussayn and Al-Abbas (peace be upon them) have sponsored means of transport from and to the holy city of Karbala, as well as the role of the Department of rituals, processions and bodies -held in the name of imam Al-Hussayn (p)- in Iraq and in the Islamic world belonging to both Holy Shrines, in coordinating and providing all kind of services there.

It is noteworthy that this condolence procession is an annual tradition, that people of the holy city of Karbala are accustomed to organize in order to commemorate different occasions of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them). It is composed of a group of processions and bodies -held in the name of Imam Al-Hussayn (p)- in the holy city of Karbala, in addition to a group of people of the province.
