The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine held a joyful ceremony to celebrate the birth anniversaries of Imam al-Mahdi and Master Ali al-Akbar (peace be upon them).
The ceremony was opened with a reading of verses from the Holy Quran by a group of national youth talents of the Prince of readers at the Quranic Projects Center, followed by poems of eloquent and popular poetry by the poet Ali al-Saffar al-Karbalai, Sayed Saeed al-Safi al-Rumaithi, the poet Hazem al-Tamimi, and the poet Abu Muhammad al-Mayahi.
The ceremony included a religious lecture by Sheikh Zaman al-Hasnawi in which he explained the importance of associating with the imams of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) as they are the heirs of the prophets (peace be upon them).
The head of the Scientific Complex of the Holy Qur'an at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine; Dr. Mushtaq al-Ali, said that "the holy shrine launched during the ceremony an international competition in eloquent vertical poetry about master Ali al-Akbar (peace be upon him) and names of the winners will be announced on the coming Eid al-Ghadeer."
According to al-Ali, the ceremony included Islamic chants and prayers delivered by Radood Ammar al-Kinani and Radood Maher al-Karbalai, and the announcement of the names of the winners of the fourth Sha'ban birth annivarsaries contest.
The ceremony, which was held at the Qibla gate of Master Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), was attended by hundreds of visitors, as well as officials of the holy shrine.
