The conclusion of the International Cultural Festival of the Martyrdom's Spring..

On the Friday afternoon 7th of Sha'ban 1435 AH corresponding to the 6th of June 2014 at the Hall of the last of prophets (Peace and Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy family) in the holy shrine of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) was the conclusion of the International Cultural Festival of the Martyrdom's Spring, which was hosted and fully funded by the general secretariats of the holy shrines of Imam Al-Hussayn and Al-Abbas (peace be upon them), and held under the slogan: (Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) The Light of the outstanding and the guidance of the righteous).

The closing ceremony witnessed the presence of large and important media coverage from print, audio, visual and electronic media, with the presence of a number of delegations participating in the festival, and academic, cultural and religious figures, as well as both the legislative and executive members of the council of the province of Karbala.

The opening ceremony started with reciting verses from the holy Quran by the International reader Mohamad Jawad Hussayni, followed by the word of the general secretariats of the two holy shrines, delivered by the Secretary-General of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine Sayed. Ahmad Al-Safi.

Then the poet Mudar Al-Alusi presented one of his eloquent poems, followed by the word of the Spanish delegation participating in the festival, which was presented on their behalf by Dr. Abdul Ghani Al-Mi'mar, who gave all the thanks on behalf of the Association of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) in Spain and on behalf of the Spanish delegation for the invitation to participate in this the distinguished and blessed festival for the second year in a row.

Then came the word of the Portuguese delegation participating in the festival, presented by Dr. Francisco José Luis, who highlighted the fact that the sacrifice of Karbala shows the principle of the relationship between the earth and the heavens, that the holy city of Karbala is a piece of paradise, which has been completed by the sacrifice of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him)."

Succeeded by the word of the Indian delegation participating in the festival, which was presented by Sheikh Ehtesham AlHassan the official of the Mu'ammal Institution in the city of Lucknow in India, after presenting thanks to both holy shrines for the good organization of this festival which was attended by more than 50 countries, including India, and which gave a clear message to the whole world on the true thought of Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them), the message of freedom.

Then a delegation representing the holy sanctuaries of Saint Zaynab and saint Ruqayyah (peace be upon them) in Syria, handed over the flag of the shrine of saint Zaynab (peace be upon her) to the preparatory committee of the festival, received on their behalf by Sayed. Laith Al-Musawi the head of the intellectual and cultural affairs Department at the holy shrine of Al-Abbas (peace be upon him).
Proceeded by the Lebanese poet Mohammed Baqer who presented a poem entitled: "Land of the confused". Followed by the intervention of the judging committee of the Hussayni documentary films' contest, presented on their behalf by the famous Egyptian artist Ahmad Maher.

And before the end of the ceremony, the International Progress Organization and the Dialogue among Civilizations and Religions presented a gold distinction medal for the general secretariats of the holy shrines of Imam Al-Hussayn and Al-Abbas (peace be upon them).

At the conclusion of the festival, it was time for the announcement of the results of the Hussayni documentary films' contest, with the distribution of the awards to the winners, as well as honouring its judging committee.
