The Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine held the Al-Kafeel Sofra program during the holy month of Ramadhan in several African countries.
This activity was supervised by the Department's Center for African Studies.
The director of the center, Sheikh Saad Sattar al-Shammari, said that"the program included the establishment of a Quranic session and councils for reviving the nights of al-Qadr, reading the supplications of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), in addition to Group Iftaar tables."
He added that "the preachers and coordinators of the Center supervised the implementation of the program and its activities in several African countries, including (Nigeria, Ghana, the Republic of Benin, Senegal and Cameroon)".
"In Nigeria, the coordinator of the Center; Mr. Bashir Thani, supervised the distribution of sacrificial meat to African families, and in Ghana, sheikhs Suleiman Ahmed and Abdul Nasser supervised the special programs for the occasion,"he said.
Al-Shammari continued, " in the Republic of Benin, Sheikh Hassan Omidou supervised various events, which were represented by reading the Iftitah and 'Ahd supplications and Ziyarat Ashura in the presence of lovers of Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them)".
He pointed out that "the coordinator of the Center in Senegal, Sheikh Yahya Toure, supervised the revival of the nights of al-Qadr, as well as the establishment of the program in the state of Cameroon, which was supervised by the coordinator, Sheikh Mohammed Mokhtar".
