The Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine recalled the tragedy of the demolition of the graves of the imams of Baqi' (peace be upon them), by establishing an annual mourning Council in the Courtyard of the Master Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him).

The organization of the council is supervised by the Public Speeking Division of the Hussayni preaching at the holy shrine.

The official of the Division; Sheikh Abdul Sahib al-Ta'i, said that " the council is part of the preaching project of Lady Umm al-Baneen (peace be upon her), which is organized by the division to commemorate and revive the occasions of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), and lasts for three days, from the seventh of Shawwal, with morning and evening sessions ."

He added, " the council is held annually at the shrine of the Master Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) amid the wide participation of crowds of visitors who mourn this sad occasion, and a group of orators ascend the pulpit of the council, and concludes with reading poems and elegies on the anniversary of the demolition of the shrines of the imams of Baqi' (peace be upon them)."

For his part, the speaker of the Council; Sheikh Zaman al-Hasnawi, said, "in the lecture, we stressed the importance of rebuilding the graves of infallible imams (peace be upon them) and visiting them, and we explained through the verses of the Holy Quran, narrations and hadiths of the Holy Prophet, the status of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them)".
