The Engineering Projects Department details the work of the cement laboratory

The Engineering Projects Department at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine is working on inspecting various construction materials according to international quality standards.

The Structural Engineering Laboratory Division of the Department is responsible for inspecting the structural materials in order to make them meet the quality standards.

The technical examiner at the laboratory; Sayed Haydar Ali Hussayn, said that "the cement laboratory specializes in conducting tests (cement and plaster), through multiple stages starting from receiving the forms, then shaking and ejecting bubbles, up to the stage of placing them in the incubator and maturation to be followed by the fracture process".

He explained that "the inspections are carried out using the latest international devices and from well-established origins, such as the automatic mixer device for mixing mortar, the unified compression and flexion inspection device, the device for checking the texture and hardening time of the mortar, vibrators for stacking and breaking the pins and checking the smoothness of the mortar".

According to Hussayn, the Structural Engineering Laboratory in the Engineering Projects Department has an Iraqi accreditation certificate, which made it one of the advanced laboratories nationwide, and it is distinguished by the presence of expertise and the multiplicity of laboratories in it.
