The intellectual and cultural affairs' department of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine announces the launching date of the events of the seventh annual cultural festival of Imam Al-Hassan Al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him), which will be held under the auspices of holy shrines of Imam Al-Hussayn and Al-Abbas (peace be upon them), and host like every year by the city of Al-Hilla (City of Imam Al-Hassan "peace be upon him") in the Babylon province to commemorate the birth of the second Light of Ahl-Al-Bayt (peace be upon them) Imam Al-Hassan Ibnu Ali (peace be upon them) in the fifteen of this blessed month, and for the period (14-16 month of Ramadan 1435 AH) and under the slogan: "Imam Al-Hassan Al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him) the glory of the faithful and the reform of Muslims".
The member of the preparatory committee for the festival, the vice-president of the intellectual and cultural Affairs' department at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine Mr. Aqeel Abdul Hussain Al-Yasiri explained to Al-Kafeel's network: "The Festival of Imam Al-Hassan Al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him) is one of the festivals that our department gives a great interest, as it is commemorating an important occasion, which is the birth of Imam Al-Hassan Al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him), this oppressed Imam that we try through these cultural events to highlight his inimitable personality, and which we believe was also oppressed because it was never shown with an image that is consistent with his greatness and his position to the Messenger of Allah (prayers and Allah's peace be upon him and his holy household) and the Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them). "
Mr. Al-Yasiri added: "The festival will contain this year, a series of events, which will begin with words and poems during the opening day ceremony as well as the announcement of the results of the competition of the second annual contest of writing (book contest about Imam Al-Hassan "peace be upon him"), in addition to raising the banner of Imam Al-Hassan (peace be upon him). Among its events also some academic and hawza research sessions, an exhibition of plastic art, calligraphy and ornamentation, besides Quranic and poems' evenings, without mentioning other events that will be identified in a timely manner. There will be also a cultural competition of (50 questions) centred on the person, the thought and the approach of Imam Al-Hassan (peace be upon him) involving more than 6000 participants from different provinces, the winners will be announced the 12th of the month of Ramadan, and prizes of this competition have been allocated to the first ten winners, who will win a Single Omra to the House of God, then the second ten winners will win a Zyara (visit) to the shrine of Imam Ar-Reda (peace be upon him), in addition to five other awards (books). In fact, this competition, which is one of the addition of the festival this year, had positive echoes and a wide participation. "
It is noteworthy that this festival is held annually in conjunction with the auspicious birth of Imam Al-Hassan (peace be upon him) in the middle of the holy month of Ramadan, and aims to demonstrate the missionary role led by the Imam (peace be upon him), in addition to clarifying his attitudes toward the oppressing governing authority of Mu'awiyah, highlighting the problems and pressures faced by the Imam (peace be upon him) in his life, and mentioning some of the guiding commandments and educational conversations of the Imam (peace be upon him) about the morality virtues and the secrets of worship, as well as working to embody his educational values, disseminating the humanitarian meanings that characterized his personality (peace be upon him), in line with the aspirations and visions of the modern society.
