Proceeding from the moral duty that goes along with the directives of the Supreme Religious Authority to stand with the displaced families, the General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) formed an ad hoc committee to oversee the reception of displaced people coming from the hotspots that witnessed killings and displacement, and works to create the spatial necessities and living conditions and within its available means for this purpose.
Most of the displaced families coming from areas where terrorist acts, especially areas in the province of Mosul, are lovers and followers of Ahl Al Bayt (peace be upon them), and as a result of this belief, their families have been exposed to the most heinous and crimes, such as the cruel killing, displacement, looting, raping and other criminal methods that are an extension to the Umayyad's crimes and hatred.
Al-Kafeel's Network met with the Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Nafi' Ni'ama Al-Musawi who stated: "After that the province of Karbala witnessed a significant increase in the movement of collective displacement, and after that the Iraqi Ministry of Transport and Communications conducted flights to transport displaced people from the province of Erbil, where they went after the control of the terrorists and takfiri groups over their cities, and in order to contribute to lessening the suffering of these families, a committee linked directly to the Office of the Secretary-General of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine was formed, to oversee the housing and shelter of these families, and to provide them with the needed vital supplies, in this hot weather and during the month of Ramadan, especially that most of these families are mainly of women, children and the elderly. "
He added: "The displaced people are received in the place allocated for this purpose in order to record their names according to each family through their identification's documents and papers, in consultation with the Authority's commissioners and the trustworthy people in those areas, in order to ensure the accuracy of their information and to cut the road in front of those who fish in troubled waters. Then, consolidate lists and sending them to the views of relevant departments, of security, migration and the displaced. After that, these families are transported to places that have been configured for them, like the city of visitors, Shiite mosques and processions deployed within the administrative borders of the province of Karbala after taking approvals owners, as well as some of the hotels that were donated by their owners for this charity work. The commission's work includes also providing the families with meals and medical and health services. "
Then, Mr. Al-Musawi explained: "Approximately (7,000 IDPs) were housed, the vast majority are coming from the cities of Tal'Afar, Sheikhan, Bartalah and Al-Qubbah of the province of Mosul, they suffered a lot until their arrival to the city of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him); their displacement, their rejection from the provinces of Kurdistan, giving them a deadline to go away and travel from those provinces to the holy city of Karbala. Noting that the number of these families is growing every day as a result of terrorist attacks carried out by gangs of ISIS (Da'esh). "
At the end, Mr. Al-Musawi called the Ministry of Displacement and Migration and humanitarian organizations to provide material assistance and in-kind for the displaced to the province whose number increases day after day, especially that all of what is offered to them is not equivalent to the size of their suffering, and this requires concerted efforts in order to cross this crisis that befell the country.
It is worth mentioning that the Supreme Religious Authority had called earlier through its representative Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalai that under squalid and very difficult conditions experienced by displaced people from different regions of the fighting .. we call on the international and local relief organizations to expedite the aid for these families whose number is increasing day after day , and who are living a humanitarian plight as hard as we call on all citizens to stand and help these families in a way that is commensurate with the magnitude of the tragedy experienced by these families, with all possible provisions such food and water, as well as the shelter and any other needs ..
