The brigade Alqami that is a part of the formations of the fighting troop of Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) started its first duties of protecting the land on the border of the province of Karbala ..

The first regiment of the brigade Alqami, which is the first nucleus of the formations of the fighting troop of Al-Abbas (peace be upon him), has embarked its combat duties on the ground, where it started controlling and protecting the land on the border of the province of the holy city of Karbala from the north-west side.

The first regiment of the fighters of this brigade was distributed in a straight line deep in the desert, all with the coordination of the army troops present in the region, and deployed under the instructions issued by those military units.

For its part, Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine provided logistical support within the available means through the creation of camps and resting places, and providing blankets, water and other things needed by the fighters.

It is worth to mention that the first regiment of the Alqami Brigade was formed from volunteers from the sons of the southern provinces of Iraq, who answered the call of the supreme authority for the defence of Iraq and its sanctities, and who underwent intensive training before setting off to perform the sacred duty.

And it is worth noting that the formation of this troop came in response to the call of the religious authority, and as a result of the increasing number of volunteers in the province of Karbala that the current volunteers' centres could not accommodate, the Commission of the popular crowd in the province that is affiliated to the board of the popular crowd of the country set up by the prime ministry, additional volunteers' centres have been opened in coordination with the General Secretariat of the holy shrine of Al-Abbas (peace be upon him). These centres will be a nucleus to form a squad to defend and protect the holy city, with the name of “Squad of Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) that will engage within the formations of the security and the military services, and will work under their supervision, as confirmed by the supreme religious authority in the holy city of Najaf represented by Sayed Ali Al-Sistani.

Pointing out that registration centres of this troop are:
1 - Department of processions and Hussayni bodies in Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine.
2 - the headquarters of the regiment protecting the Two Holy Shrines.
