On Tuesday evening 16th of the month of Ramadan 1435 AH corresponding to the 15th of July 2014, at the Shiite Endowment hall, in the Babylon province, there was the closure ceremony of the seventh annual cultural festival of Imam Al-Hassan Al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him), which was held for three days, and organised by the people of the city of Hilla (the city of Imam Al-Hassan "peace be upon him") and sponsored by the holy shrines of Imam Al-Hussayn and Al-Abbas (peace be upon them), to commemorate the auspicious birth's anniversary of the grandson of the saint prophet (prayers and Allah's peace be upon him and his holy household) Imam Al-Hassan Al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him) under the slogan: "Imam Al-Hassan Al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him) the glory of the faithful and the reform of Muslims."
During the closing ceremony, the first students of the primary, middle and high schools in the province of Babylon, as well as the principals and teachers of these schools, including the first student in Iraq, were honoured, as well as the top winners of the calligraphy exhibition and artistic posters (one of the events of the festival). In addition to the distribution of appreciation certificates and shields to the guests of the festival, from researchers, media authorities, the preparatory committees of the festival and all those who contributed and participated in the success of this blessed festival that was in the name of Imam Al-Hassan (peace be upon him.)
The member of the Preparatory Committee of the festival and the vice-president of the department of the intellectual and cultural affairs at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine explained: "in spite of the situation faced by the country these days, the committee overseeing the festival committed itself to establish the festival, in the same timing as the previous edition, adding few events to its program, and which had a deep impact on the success of its seventh edition. In fact, we believe that any gathering held on the name of one of the Imams (peace be upon them) is a revival of the command of Allah, and will be under their blessings, the thing we felt in our festival as it is the festival of Imam Al-Hassan (peace be upon him). "
It is noteworthy that this festival is held annually in conjunction with the auspicious birth of Imam Al-Hassan (peace be upon him) in the middle of the holy month of Ramadan, and aims to demonstrate the missionary role led by the Imam (peace be upon him), in addition to clarifying his attitudes toward the oppressing governing authority of Mu'awiyah, highlighting the problems and pressures faced by the Imam (peace be upon him) in his life, and mentioning some of the guiding commandments and educational conversations of the Imam (peace be upon him) about the morality virtues and the secrets of worship, as well as working to embody his educational values, disseminating the humanitarian meanings that characterized his personality (peace be upon him), in line with the aspirations and visions of the modern society.
