The Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine carried out a large campaign in the area of Al-Taliya in the province of Babylon in order to deliver safe drinking water to the people of the area.
The campaign is supervised by the Vehicles' Department of the holy shrine.
One of the staffs of the Department, Mr. Wissam Sabah Araibi, said that "in light of the high temperatures and drought in the summer, our staff continues to distribute potable water for the fifth day in a row, with two shifts per day to the people of the Talee'a area, after the rivers in the area dried up and there was no alternative source of water in response to the appeal of the people to the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine".
He added that we are keen to equip citizens with safe drinking water, despite the distance of some villages from the main roads more than 20 km, and the number of beneficiaries of this campaign has reached eight villages so far, adding that it will continue and be more in the coming days ".
For his part, the District Manager, Mr. Fadel Hussein Mishari, said that "the district has a big crisis as a result of the lack of water, as more than 15 thousand people are suffering because of this crisis, pointing out that the service departments are also suffering from a lack of machinery and tank cars".
Mishari thanked the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and its Senior Official; Sayed Ahmad al-Safi, explaining that the Directorate seeks to cooperate with the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine in order to increase the service provided by it and provide the largest number of tank cars, drilling wells and delivering water by pipes, as the departments are unable to provide it individually".
