Al-Kafeel Hospital successfully repairs a birth defect in the spinal cord of a two-year-old child

A medical team at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital in Karbala has successfully performed a qualitative operation to repair a birth defect in the spinal cord of a two-year-old child.

A specialist in neurosurgery at the hospital, Dr. Hossam al-Anbari, said:"the two-year-old child suffers from weakness in the movement of his limbs, and after conducting the necessary tests, he was found to have a congenital malformation of the spinal cord, which was represented by the presence of adhesions to the spinal cord.

"We subjected the child to surgery, which included freeing the spinal cord and repairing that deformity with a complex qualitative operation . He stressed that "the operation was crowned with success and the child left the hospital with his parents and is in a stable state of Health".
