The processions of the people of Karbala have flocked since the early hours of the morning to offer condolences to the Master of martyrs and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them) on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Mohammad al-Jawad (peace be upon them).
"For three days now, the two holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them) have been receiving the condolence processions on the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Mohammad al-Jawad (peace be upon him),"said Fadel Awaz, adviser to the secretary-general of the Imam al-Hussayn's (p) shrine.
He added that"the entry of the condolence processions will be according to a schedule prepared by the Department of Hussayni Rituals and Processions in Iraq and the Islamic world at the Two Holy Shrines to avoid cases of intersection between them".
According to Mr Awaz, the processions start from the Qibla gate of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), heading to the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) passing through the square between the Two Holy Shrines, chanting elegies that tell of the misfortunes that befell the imams of Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them). And upon their arrival to the shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), a condolence Council is held with the participation of a large number of mourners, in which many poems and lamentations about this sad occasion are recited,"he said.
