UN official: the experience of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine is rare and has no equal in the Arab region

The assistant secretary-general of the United Nations and director of the regional office for Arab states of the United Nations Development Program, Mr. Abdullah Dardari, stressed that the humanitarian experience of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine is rare and has no equal in the Arab region.

He made this statment during his visit to the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine and his meeting with its secretary general; Sayed. Mustafa Mortadha Aal Dea'-Uddin.

"The United Nations Development delegation was impressed by the humanitarian, economic and developmental achievements of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine presented to society,"Dardari said.

"The delegation hopes to participate in the effort exerted by the Holy Shrine, benefit from the experience and support it in every possible way,"he added.

"The experience of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine is rare, and we have not seen the like in the Arab region," Dardari said, noting that "there will be joint cooperation between us, for the benefit of society and the region in general."

At the end of the meeting, the secretary general of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine; Sayed Mustafa Mortadha Aal Dea'-Uddin, presented blessing gifts from the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) to Mr. Abdullah al-Dardari.

The assistant secretary-general of the United Nations, Mr. Abdullah Dardari, and his accompanying delegation performed the Ziyarat and prayer ceremonies at the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him).
