The Supreme religious authority announced Tuesday the first day of Eid Al-Fitr

According to the announcement from the office of Sayed Ali Al-Hussayni Al-Sistani in the holy city of Najaf, Tuesday 29th of July 2014 is the first day of the month of Shawwal 1435 AH, and it is the first day of Eid Al-Fitr.

The office has declared: "The office of His Eminence has proven the legitimate vision of the new moon of the blessed month of Shawwal on Monday, 29 of the month of Ramadan 1435 AH." And according to this announcement, the first day of Eid Al-Fitr is Tuesday, 1st of Shawwal 1435 AH, wishing to all Muslims all the good and the blessings, and may God accept all their good deeds during this holy month, Indeed He is Hearing and Responsive.

However, the office of Sayed Ali Al-Hussayni Al-Sistani in the holy city of Najaf, has announced Tuesday 29th of July is the last day of the holy month of Ramadan in the United Kingdom, European and Scandinavian countries except for Spain, Portugal and Greece. The first day of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr will be on Wednesday 30th of July 2014.
