The director of the Office of the Senior Official for Women Affairs; Mrs Mona Wael, stressed the impact of media, whether positive or negative, on the life of communities.
"The importance of media in our modern world is that it creates a wide space for action and change, and it is also a decisive factor in guiding societies on different paths, which may take positive directions or vice versa, and this is determined by the nature of media institutions and their public policy,"she said.
"Based on the message of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine in reform and cultural awareness, it sought to have an influential word and deed in this field, and Riyad az-Zahra magazine was a good instillation in the cultural oasis of the Holy Shrine,"she added.
Mrs. Wael expressed her thanks and praise to the women in charge of the project, and to the Senior Official of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine; His Eminence Sayed. Ahmad al-Safi, for his patronage of the women media.
The Umm al-Baneen Library (peace be upon her) of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine launched, on Friday morning, the activities of the annual women media forum in its eighth edition at the Al-Ameed Educational Group.
The forum witnessed the presentation of a documentary film about Riyad az-Zahra magazine (peace be upon her), which dealt with various aspects about the history of the magazine, its fields, interests and its role in spreading religious and cultural knowledge among Muslim women.
The forum also witnessed the presentation of a Quranic religious event for the buds of the Institute of the Holy Quran affiliated to the Scientific Complex of the Holy Quran at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, which was well received by those present, and the announcement of the winning magazine in the competition of the magazine of Riyad az-Zahra (peace be upon her).
