The Secretary-General of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine; Sayed Ahmad Al-Safi was briefed on the prepared plan by the Iraqi Red Crescent for the special humanitarian situation of the displaced, who were forced by the criminal and Takfiri gangs to leave their homes and properties and migrate to safe areas in central and southern provinces, including the province of Karbala, in which the holy shrines of Imam Al-Hussayn and Al-Abbas (peace be upon them) provided an outstanding effort in the reception and the accommodation of those families, working to find the suitable environments for them and providing them with minimum level of life.
The president of the Iraqi Red Crescent Society, Dr. Yaseen Al-Ma'moori explained to the Al-Kafeel Network:"Our visit to the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine is part of several visits that we've made previously, and we will be doing later on, in order to help the displaced families and refugees, who are currently accommodated in different institutions and departments, particularly those belonging to the holy shrines, which have spared no effort to provide any aid or assistance within their available financial, moral and logistic means for this humanitarian work."
He added: "The plan includes a number interesting and vital points, which aim to find radical solutions to long-term problems of displaced families without relying on the current plans in place, and it contains many paragraphs, including: finding adequate shelter for them and working to integrate them into the areas where they currently live temporarily while maintaining their identity and geographical affiliation."
At the conclusion of his speech, Dr. Yaseen Al-Ma'moori tanked the effort made by the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine for the relief to the displaced since the first moments of receiving them until providing a suitable housing for them in its cities of the visitors and Hussaynyat, ensuring their comfort and providing them with the minimum of their standard of living, and this by an ad hoc committee (relief committee of the displaced) that is associated with the office of the Secretary-General of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine.
It is to mention that out of its moral duty that goes along with the directives of the Supreme Religious Authority to stand with the displaced families, the General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) has formed an ad hoc committee to oversee the reception of displaced people coming from the hotspots that witnessed killings and displacement, and works to create the accommodation necessities and living conditions, within the available means for this purpose. Noting that the number of the displaced people who were received, reached more than 13.000 people, mostly residents of the city of Tal-Afar who, were expelled for sectarian and confessional reasons.
