The Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine held a condolence Council on the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Mohammad al-Baqer (peace be upon him) in the African state of Kenya.
The organization of the council was overseen by the Department's Center for African Studies.
The director of the Center; Sheikh Saad al-Shammari, said that"the council was held in the Kenyan city of Mombasa on the African continent, in the presence of a gathering of followers and lovers of Ahl al-Bayt(peace be upon them), and the lecturer in the Council, Sheikh Yunus Amrisa, addressed the great role of Imam al-Baqer(peace be upon him) in preserving the authentic Mohammadian religion and repelling conspiracies aimed at diverting it from the right path."
"The lecturer in the council touched upon the injustices suffered by the imam (peace be upon him) from the unjust Umayyad authority and its hatred for the men of truth, their virtue and dignity, which led to his martyrdom,"he added.
"The lecturer at the council explained the role of Imam al-Baqer (peace be upon him) in the establishment of scientific and research schools," al-Shammari continued.
