The celebration, which was organized in the area between the Two Holy Shrines, came under the slogan"Giving, Loyalty, Redemption", in the presence of the director of the Office of His Eminence, the Senior Official of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, Dr. Afdhal al-Shami, a number of officials at the holy shrine, security leaders in Karbala and a gathering of squad fighters and visitors.
The leader of the squad, Sheikh Maytham al-Zaidi, said that the celebration comes on the occasion of the ninth anniversary of the founding of the Abbas Squad (peace be upon him) after the fatwa of the Supreme Authority; His Eminence Sayed Ali al-Sistani following the attack of ISIL terrorist gangs on our dear country in 2014 and the awakening of the country's people to defend it.
He added that today we recall the blood of the martyrs and the heroism of the Squad with the great support of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine to launch the Victory Week, which will continue with various activities until the Ghadeer Eid and will end with the laying of the foundation stone for the loyal compound established by the shrine for the Squad's fighters in Karbala.
The concert included multiple paragraphs, including the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by the reciter Hassanein al-Helo and the reciters of Surah al-Fatiha on the souls of the martyrs of Iraq, while those present stood on the Iraqi national anthem and the anthem of the Al-Abbas's (p) shrine-the pride's melody-listened to the words of the Squad leader Sheikh Maytham al-Zaidi and Sayed. The concert witnessed the screening of films, including a documentary about the founding of the Squad and another film entitled (Giving, Loyalty, Redemption), and a theatrical performance that embodied the sacrifices of fighters in the defense of the homeland and sanctuaries.
