The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine continues to receive the displaced families and warns of a population dump in the home areas of the displaced..

In continuation of what it started, the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine continues through its Relief Committee of the Displaced to receive the displaced folks from the northern provinces, especially from Ninawa province, which inhabitants were forced to leave for sectarian reasons. They have suffered and endured a lot since the first moments of leaving their homes until their arrival to the holy city of Karbala.

The head of the Relief Committee of the Displaced; Sayed. Nafi' Ni'mah explained to the Al-Kafeel Netwrok the following: "The Committee is working day and night in order to alleviate the burden on these families within its available means, it is working to provide them with food, accommodation and health care, and that is in collaboration with some support actors such as the people and the health department of the province. In fact, these families are distributed in several places, including the city of visitors of the holy shrine and Hussaynyat inside and outside the holy city of Karbala, as well as some houses and two hotels donated by their owners for accommodating these displaced families."

He added: "The displaced people are received in the place allocated for this purpose in order to record their names according to each family through their identification documents and papers. After that, these families are transported to places that have been booked in advance for them, like the city of visitors, Hussaynyat, Houses and processions. Then, the commission starts providing them with the necessary needs such as shelter, lighting, air conditioning and other provisions such as food, sterile water, ice, baby milk and liquid milk, in addition to bringing health teams to control their conditions."

Sayed Al-Mussawi warned of a large plan that aims to empty those areas from which the inhabitants are displaced for sectarian reasons, of a particular ingredient in society in order to change their demographic aspect, seizing their homes and belongings.

It is worth noting that the religious authority and on the tongue of Sayed. Ahmed Al-Safi, had earlier warned of any possible demographic change due to the displacement of religious minorities of Ninawa province and other areas that face terrorist operations, and that these citizens should have the opportunity to return to their residence areas after the restitution of peace and security, and it is not permissible that their displacement be an introduction of any demographic changes in those areas.

It is to mention that out of its moral duty that goes along with the directives of the Supreme Religious Authority to stand with the displaced families, the General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) has formed an ad hoc committee to oversee the reception of displaced people coming from the hotspots that witnessed killings and displacement, and works to create the accommodation necessities and living conditions, within the available means for this purpose. Noting that the number of the displaced people who were received, reached more than 18.000 people, mostly residents of the city of Tal-Afar who, were expelled for sectarian and confessional reasons.
