Sayed al-Sistani's Office announces Thursday the first day of the month of Muharram

The Office of the Supreme Authority; Sayed Ali al-Sistani, announced on Tuesday that next Thursday is the first day of the holy month of Muharram.

The statement issued by the Office of the supreme religious authority; Sayed Ali al-Sistani, stated that "the sighting of the Crescent moon with the naked eye in Iraq and its neighboring areas has not been proven after sunset on Tuesday (29 /Dhu al-Hijjah 1444 AH), so tomorrow Wednesday will be the 30th of this month".

He added: "Thursday will be the first of the holy month of Muharram in 1445 AH ".
