The Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine organizes the ceremony of replacing the flag of the dome of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) from red to black flag

The Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine organized on Tuesday evening the ceremony of replacing the flag of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) from red to black, marking the month of Muharram (1445 AH).

The beginning of the ceremonies was from the Imam al-Hussayn's (p) holy shrine, where the red flag was replaced by the black one for the dome of the shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), amid the wide participation of crowds of mourners.

Followed by the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), to begin the ceremony of replacing the flag of the holy dome of his holy shrine, which was erected in the central courtyard of the Qibla gate, along listening to the Holy Quran from the loudspeakers of the dome of the holy shrine by the secretary general of the holy shrine; Sayed Mustafa Mortada Aal Dia'-Uddin.

The ceremony was attended by the Senior Official of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; His Eminence Ahmad al-Safi, a number of its officials, delegations, religious, academic and hawza figures, amid an atmosphere of sadness and sorrow.

The symbolic black flag of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) was hoisted at the Qibla gate of the Holy Courtyard by the Senior Official of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; His Eminence Ahmad al-Safi, coinciding with its hoisting on the holy dome.

While the red flag was lowered from the dome of the holy shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), as it was honored by the secretary general of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; Sayed Mustafa Mortada Aal Dia'-Uddin, to raise the black Ashura flag of sorrow and mourning in its place.

The rituals began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran to the readers of the two holy shrines; Haidar Gelokhan, followed by the speech of the Al-Abbas's (P) holy shrine, delivered by its Senior Official; Sayed Ahmad al-Safi, in which he stressed that " commemorating Ashura is a revival of the Imamate and believers should pay attention to its rituals and participate in it."

This was followed by the receipt of the flag of condolence from the representative of the processions of Maysan governorate, by the Senior Official of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; His Eminence Ahmad al-Safi, as the holy shrine has been receiving it every year from one of the governorates and this year it was received from Maysan governorate.

Then came a poem presented by the poet Ali Al-Saffar, followed by a lamentation by Sheikh Abdul Sahib Al-Ta'i with the participation of the radhood Mullah Hussein al-Saghir, Mullah Hassan al-Shujairi and Mullah Hussein al-Shujairi.

These mourning ceremonies have been held since (2004), through which the beginning of the month of Sorrows is announced, to be launched from the Holy Karbala, the capital of Hussayni rituals.
