A medical team at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital in Karbala successfully treated a patient who had slipped vertebrae.
The specialist of neurosurgery at the hospital, Dr. Khaled al-Sarraj, said that "the patient is (53) years old, reviewed us suffering from sudden weakness in his four limbs and after the tests, we found that he had multiple herniated discs," indicating that "these slips caused severe compression on the spinal cord."
He added," We performed an operation to remove the cartilage of the patient and other artificial implants to replace it, and fixation of the vertebrae to relieve pressure from the spinal cord, "stressing"the success of the operation for the patient and that he left the hospital in good health."
"The presence of modern technologies in the hospital has an important role in conducting difficult operations and controlling various diseases or injuries of the spine during and after the operation,"al-Sarraj said.
