By the numbers, the Al-Abbas's (P) Shrine announces statistics of services provided to visitors during Ashura

The Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine announced the statistics of the services it provided to visitors of Ashura during the first ten days of the holy month of Muharram.

The statistics of the Al-Kafeel Center for Information and Statistical Studies of the Office of the Senior Official of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine showed that "the number of condolence and service processions participating from the Old City Center reached 700 processions, and another from Karbala governorate and its district numbered 1,300 processions, with a total of 2,000 processions".

"The Host Restaurant Department provided 298,798 main meals at a daily average of 29,880 meals, and 362,790 snacks at a daily average of 36,279 meals, with a total of 661,588 meals,"she added.

Continuing,"4,867 male and 100 female volunteers participated in providing services to Ashura visitors with the Departments of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine, as well as a thousand volunteers participated with the Abbas squad(peace be upon him) and 110 volunteers with the protection force of the Two Holy Shrines, with a total of 6,077 volunteers."

As for the medical detachments, the statistics showed that "there are four fixed medical detachments inside the Holy Courtyard, five in the outer perimeter and two detachments in the women's Department, and as for the mobile medical detachments, there were 20 detachments inside the Courtyard and doors, and 15 in the vicinity of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, and 451 volunteers from the medical staff participated in providing medical services to visitors".

Regarding the number of volunteers in the medical detachments, the statistic explained that "the number was 307 male and 25 female volunteers, while the number of patients reached 63,700 patients, and ambulances amounted to 19 ambulances supported by 3 small ambulances".

The statistics pointed out that" the Department of Religious Affairs has established six sites inside and two sites outside the holy shrine, in addition to 54 platforms for religious lectures, "pointing out that"the average daily beneficiaries of the reporting sites reached 3.288, and the total number of beneficiaries was 26.300."

As for the services of the Media Department during the Ziyarat of the tenth of the month of Muharram, the statistic stated that "the number of badges granted to local media institutions reached 201 and 13 badges for foreign institutions, while the Arab media had 7 badges, while the number of channels benefiting from broadcasting without the Shrine's logo reached 50 channels, and the hashtag for this season in cooperation with the Holy Shrines was #Wafa'an lith-Thaqalayn (in loyalty to the two weights; the Holy Quran and the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them)".

With regard to other services, the statistics of the Al-Abbas's (P) Shrine confirmed the distribution of 155,000 boxes of water at a rate of 9,300,000 cups of water, and the number of drinking water fountains reached 230 fountains, while the total amount of filtered water produced was 3,450,000 liters, and the total amount of drinking water produced was 3,320,000 liters, while the total amount of raw water pumped was 8,120,000 liters so the rate of water produced in general was 14,890,000 liters, while 31,000 crystalline ice was distributed in bags in addition of 40,695 Ice blocks".

Regarding covering the Courtyard of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine and the area between the Two Holy Shrines, the statistics of the General Secretariat explained that "11,000 m2 was laid inside the holy courtyard before the tenth day of the holy month of Muharram, and 6,000 m2 after the ritual of Twayreej Run, while there was an additional 1,000 m2 around the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, and the staffs of the Holy Shrine spread 24,000 m2 of nylon".

The statistic concluded that"there are 200 sprinklers deployed in the Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas's(peace be upon him) Courtyard for the Twayreej Run, in addition to a number of carts for transporting the people with special needs and the elderly, which amounted to 151 carts from four directions, while the machinery department provided 130 buses of different sizes and capacities, as well as providing nine fixed bathroom complexes kits that were opened to visitors".
