For the tenth year, the procession of Qanadeel as-Sama commemorates the ceremonies of the thirteenth day of Muharram

For the tenth year in a row, the condolence procession of Qanadeel as-Sama began to commemorate the burial of the holy bodies of Imam al-Hussayn and his family and companions (peace be upon them) on the thirteenth day of Muharram.

The sponsor of the procession, engineer Ihab al-Owaidi, said that"the procession of Qanadeel as-Sama, with the support of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, goes out on the thirteenth day of the holy month of Muharram every year with a condolence March, to commemorate the burial of the holy bodies of Imam al-Hussayn and his family and companions (peace be upon them), and to extend condolences to Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his holy reappearance), in this painful tragedy that befell the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them)".

"The condolence procession consists of the servants of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), with the participation of a group of believers carrying the Holy Quran, accompanied by a number of children carrying roses, in addition to raising 94 banners bearing the names of the convoy of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) from his family and companions (peace be upon them) in the Battle of at-Taf in Karbala,"he added.

Al-Owaidi explained that"the condolence procession of the Qanadeel as-Sama comes with the direct support of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and its Senior Official; Sayed. Ahmea al-Safi, and under the follow-up and supervision of the member of the holy shrine Council; Mr. Jawad al-Hasnawi, since the first year in which the procession started and continues every year to commemorate the tragedy of the Battle of at-Taf and the eternal Husseini cause.

The procession, which servants were wearing white, started from one of the streets leading to the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and then headed to enter the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) to extend the condolences, and then the procession went out towards the shrine of the Master of the Free Men; Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), passing through the square between the Two Holy Shrines.

The procession, which servants marched in two parallel lines, dedicated 4 of the 94 banners bearing the names of the ambassadors of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), another 18 to Bani Hashim (peace be upon them) and 72 banners with the names of the martyrs associated with the imam (peace be upon him) in the immortal event of at-Taf.

The procession of Qanadeel as-Sama was concluded in the Holy Courtyard of Imam al-Hussayn's (p) Holy Shrine by holding a condolence Council, with a wide participation of visitors.

The holy city of Karbala witnessed today the start of the mourning procession of Bani Asad and the rest of the clans living in Holy Karbala and surrounding areas, in commemoration of the burial of the holy bodies of Imam al-Hussayn and his family and companions (peace be upon them), in Karbala.
