This came during his visit with his accompanying delegation from the Directorate's departments, to the Saqi Agricultural Project of the Engineering Projects Department at the Holy Shrine.
"The agricultural and industrial experiments of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine as well as the animal sector, which were carried out in desert areas, achieved great success, especially in the cultivation of strategic crops, such as palm with its various varieties and citrus fruits of all kinds, and provided a great incentive for farmers,"he said.
He added that "the Holy Shrine projects have a direct impact on the local market, as they work to provide it and achieve food security, by increasing the local product and not relying on the importer, thus contributing and achieving self-sufficiency, and employing the largest number of specialized manpower in this important and vital field".
For his part, the director of Al-Kafeel company for food industries, engineer Jafar Hussein al-Qutb, said that"the delegation reviewed all the stages of cultivation of dates, and identified rare varieties of them during its visit to the Saqi agricultural project, which started harvesting dates for this year".
The Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has multiple projects, which had a clear impact on the agricultural sector in the holy city of Karbala and the rest of the provinces, which helped to support this important aspect because it is directly related to the Citizen's daily life.
