The Department of Intellectual Affairs holds a condolence Council in commemoration of Ashura in Madagascar

The Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine held a condolence Council in commemorations of Ashura in the state of Vohipanany in the province of Manakara in eastern Madagascar.

The director of the Center for African Studies of the Department; Sheikh Saad Sattar al-Shammari, said that "the Council was organized under the supervision of the coordinator of the Center; Sheikh Abdul Malik Celestin, with the participation of followers of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and their lovers, in Manakara governorate, within the series of councils that the Center commemorates in the continent".

He added that"the Center continues to hold Husseini condolence councils in many African countries, since the beginning of the holy month of Muharram, within the framework of the adoption of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and its vision aimed at delivering the message of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) to all the peoples of the region".

The Center for African Studies is working on organizing mourning councils in various African countries to spread the grievances of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), revive the hussayni rituals on the African continent, as well as building bridges of communication with religious, intellectual and scientific institutions and various segments of society.
