The Squad of Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) held a mourning Council on the eighteenth of the month of Muharram in the Holy Courtyard of the shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him).
The head of the Religious Guidance Department of the Squad; Sayed Hassan al-Mousawi, said that "as part of its series of condolence councils on the second ten days of the month of Muharram, it organized its Husseini condolence Council at the shrine of Aba Abdillah al-Hussayn (peace be upon him); in commemoration of his martyrdom, his family (peace be upon them) and his esteemed companions in the land of Karbala and what happened to them from captivity".
"The Squad continues to hold its series of condolence councils on the second and third ten days of the holy month of Muharram in husseiniyats and holy shrines, in various regions of the provinces of Iraq,"he added.
The council included a religious lecture given by the preacher, His Eminence Sheikh Abdullah al-Dujaili, in which he touched upon the issue of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), its humanitarian and moral dimensions on the Islamic nation, and the incident of the captivity of his family (peace be upon all of them)."
The council concluded by reading the sad elegies and lamentations by Radood Maher al-Shibli, and recalling the tragedy of the painful incident of al-Taf, which left great sadness, amid an atmosphere of sorrow of those present.
