The head of the southern green belt department at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, Mr. Nasser Hussein Mit'eb, confirmed that the Green Belt project contributed to the employment of Labor and the supply of local markets in the holy city of Karbala with agricultural products.
"The Southern Green Belt project, which stretches for 27 km from the Northeast to the southwest of the Holy province of Karbala, has contributed to the employment of more than 500 young people, which reduces the unemployment rate in the province and helps the working class to get jobs,"Mit'eb said.
He added that "olives and dates with their various varieties, vegetables and citrus fruits are the most prominent agricultural crops produced by the project to supply the local markets and provide the Host Restaurant of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) to serve visitors to the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon them)".
According to the head of the department, the Green Belt project contains more than (22) oases, four of which have been completed to receive Karbala families, and the Department seeks to increase the number of planted areas and green spaces and provide the best services to citizens who go to it.
