A medical team at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital in Karbala successfully performed a complex operation on a two-year-old child who suffered from a congenital malformation of the spinal cord.
Dr. Hossam al-Anbari, a specialist in neurosurgery at the hospital, said that"the patient was suffering from a congenital malformation and adhesions in the spinal cord, which caused him severe pain in the back area, and after the necessary tests, we performed a surgical intervention to treat the deformity, freeing the spinal cord completely".
"Modern and advanced technologies and devices in the hospital, as well as the skill of the medical and nursing staff, are the most important factors contributing to the success of such operations,"he added.
"The health status of the child improved after the operation, and he left the hospital after three days,"al-Anbari stressed.
