The Gifts and Vows Department at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine produces dozens of pieces of art of aesthetic and moral value daily.
These products come from pieces of Alabaster removed from the floor and walls of the Holy Sanctuary and Courtyard of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him).
The head of the Department, Mr. Moeen al-Husseini, said that"the reconstruction campaign witnessed by the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine provided several marble ores, resulting from pieces of Alabaster removed from the floor and walls of the Holy Sanctuary and Courtyard of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), where there was a need to invest these pieces and give them artistic and aesthetic touches commensurate with their value".
He added, " the idea of investing alabaster pieces was born by employing them for blessing purposes, and presenting them with an artistic suit for visitors, so a workshop specialized in these works was established in 2010, and went through stages of modernization and development until it became the latest in Iraq," pointing out that "the workshop has the responsibility to cut alabaster according to special measurements and sizes, with high craftsmanship by modern and advanced machines prepared for this purpose".
He continued that " the workshop works under the supervision of a specialized technical staff with experience in this field, and its products are unique with designs and symbols that mimic the place from which they originate," pointing out that "the pieces produced are in multiple shapes, sizes, inscriptions and writings, fit and the value of these pieces.
According to al-Husseini, the workshop produces dozens of pieces of Art daily, of aesthetic value in addition to their moral value, such as rings, necklaces, and large and medium pieces that the generous visitor acquires for the purpose of blessing.
