The Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine organized a scientific seminar on the impact of colonialism on the economy, diseases and their impact on the National Crafts in Nigeria.
The director of the Center for African Studies of the Department, Sheikh Saad Sattar al-Shammari, said that "the center's delegation in the state of Nigeria held a scientific symposium on the specialties of Economics, diseases and the impact of colonialism in changing the national heritage crafts in Nigeria and their extinction, under the supervision of the center's preachers in the Nigerian state of Kaduna; Sheikh Shamsuddin Abdullah and Sheikh Ibrahim Musa".
For his part, Sheikh Ibrahim Musa said that "the seminar included three themes, the first of which was about handicrafts and the impact of the colonialists in changing them, delivered by Professor at the College of Technology and Engineering Mohammed Obah, the second axis was entitled The History of the African Economy and the Colonialists' Control over it, the lecture was presented by Professor at the Federal Cooperative College Mohammed VIII, while in the third axis chronic diseases and how to prevent them were discussed by researcher Dr. Shoaib Imam."
"The seminar witnessed interaction, interventions and a number of proposals, amid the participation and attendance of a group of academics and students of Nigerian universities,"he added.
"The Center for African Studies implements a range of religious, cultural, intellectual, awareness-raising and ethical programs in Nigeria in cooperation with academic, educational, religious and community institutions to strengthen ties and build bridges of communication between the center and segments of Nigerian society,"Musa added.
