The Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the Al-Abbas's(p) holy shrine held a condolence Council to commemorate of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam as-Sajjad (peace be upon him) in the African state of Rwanda.
The establishment of the council was overseen by the Department's Centre for African Studies.
The director of the center, Sheikh Saad Sattar al-Shammari, said that "the Center held a condolence Council in commemoration of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Zayn al-Abideen (peace be upon him), attended by dozens of followers of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) in the African country of Rwanda, and this comes within the ongoing programs of the center aimed at reviving Husseini rituals in the African continent".
He added that"the council included a lecture by the center's director, Sheikh Abu Haider Yas, in which he explained the role played by Imam as-Sajjad (peace be upon him) in fixing the misfortune of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) and spreading its concepts to the community, stressing that the imam (peace be upon him) was one of the foundations for the survival of the Hussayni cause and its sustainability and achieving its goals".
The Center for African Studies continues to establish religious councils with the participation of the followers of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) on the continent of Africa, to revive the hussayni rituals, especially during the months of Muharram and Safar.
