The last date for registration and entry of processions to the holy city of Karbala was on 10th Safar 1445 AH.
The head of the Department; Sayed Aqeel Abdul Hussayn al-Yasiri, said:"the Husseini Rites and processions Department has set up a joint workroom in coordination with the concerned authorities in the Karbala Governorate Police Directorate, the Operations Command, and the regiment of the Two Holy Shrines for the purpose of completing transactions for the owners of processions as quickly as possible.
He added," the department has started issuing legal guarantees for the owners of Husseini and service processions since the twenty-fifth of the month of Muharram, and registration continued until the tenth of Safar, "indicating that"the total number of Husseini and service processions registered currently reached (12752)".
He explained that " the processions that erect marquees and camps on the streets or husseiniyats have a special mechanism for dealing with and giving some licenses in coordination with the Directorate of the Two Holy Shrines, the police command of Karbala governorate and the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon them), so that the installation of the procession and the provision of services does not interfere with the March of visitors and does not cause congestion in the traffic of vehicles providing service during the Ziyarat Arba'een of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him)".
Permits are issued to the owners of the processions according to al-Yasiri by registering an integrated database about the procession sponsor, as it must be identified by the representatives of the department present both inside and outside Iraq.
Al-Yasiri pointed out that"there are processions that come later, and an explanation is made for them by the Department of rituals and processions to the competent authorities for the purpose of completing their legal transactions".
