The success of the operation of replacing the aortic valve with a mechanical one for a young patient

A medical team at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital in Karbala successfully performed an operation on a patient in the second decade of life, who was suffering from an incompetent aortic valve, and replaced it with a mechanical one.

Dr. Ali Najm, a specialist in Cardiovascular Surgery at the hospital, said, "We recently performed a successful valve replacement operation on a 16-year-old patient suffering from aortic valve insufficiency, which caused her health problems."

"After carrying out the necessary medical tests, it was decided to perform a surgical intervention to replace the damaged valve with another mechanical valve, through a small opening and partial cutting of the sternum to reduce pain after the operation, and avoid other health problems,"he added.

He added that "the patient is in good health and will leave the hospital after completing the treatment phase, "noting that"the High experience of the medical staff and the availability of advanced capabilities and devices in the operating theaters, greatly facilitated the conduct of various open heart operations and artery replacement within the Al-Kafeel Hospital."
