The Department of the area between the Two Holy shrines has constituted a military force of its affiliates titled "At-Taf Fighting Brigade," in order to contribute to the protection of the holy city of Karbala and its holy shrines, and to defend it in case of any emergency. The members of this military force have received military and tactical training by involving them in the training sessions supervised by the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine.
This, according to the words of Mr. Ali Al-Bawi the head of information unit of the Department of the area between the Two Holy Shrines to the Al-Kafeel Network who, added: "the affiliates to the Department of the area between the Two Holy Shrines were the first to answer the call of the supreme authority in the fatwa of the sufficient duty (wujub kifa'i) to defend Iraq and its sanctities. With all determination, they were engaged in training courses set up by the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, where they could be prepared physically by working to raise their fitness by subjecting them to intensive exercises, then they were trained on the use of specific types of weapons, such as the automatic rifle (Kalashnikov) and (BKC), Sniper and launcher, which are the most important types of weapon needed by the fighter in the battlefield, they were also trained to how to deal with all of them and the way of shooting on fixed and moving targets, in addition to the assembling and dismantling of these weapons."
Mr. Al-Bawi explained also the following: "The training included also theoretical and practical classes for street war, different fighting plans, how to deal with the target, methods of a raid and how to protect well oneself, and all the fighting techniques needed by the fighter that we try our level best to teach it to the trainees through lessons on combat experience as well as the allocation of a day to use real ammunition."
Adding: "After the completion of this session, which were considered essential, we have found that the goals of the affiliates are beyond the training. So, to contain their moral momentum, the Department has chosen among them an elite to form one brigade from all the divisions and units of the department without any intersection or imbalance in the work assigned to them, involving them in sessions in coordination with the security officials that manage the army, the police, the volunteers of the popular mobilization and the combat squad of Al-Abbas (peace be upon him), so they can integrate with fighting units deployed on the border of the province of Karbala, in the form of factions according to specific time-lines, to be ready and on standby."
It is worth noting that in response to the call of the supreme religious authority in the fatwa of the sufficient duty (wujub kifa'i) to defend Iraq and its sanctities, the servants of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) went in droves to the training camps of combat to be fully ready to defend their country, contributing its protection from all the risks, and sending a message that the servants of Abu Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) as they are doing their best to serve the visitors, they did not hesitate for a moment to defend them and their sanctities.
