Harvest more than five tons of palm dates between the Two Holy Shrines

The department between the Two Holy Shrines began harvesting palm dates planted between the Shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them), which amounted to more than five tons, to be distributed to visitors.

The work of the harvest is supervised by the afforestation and ornamental unit of the Department.

The unit's official and specialist in prevention, agricultural engineer Hatem Abdul Karim Habeeb, said that " our staff has started harvesting palm fruits located in the Central Square, which amounted to more than five tons, to distribute them as a blessing to visitors to the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon them) free of charge and directly and immediately after cleaning them."

He added that"the area between the Two Holy Shrines receives great attention in terms of afforestation and care, and one of its manifestations is the presence of palms that were planted with the number of years of life of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), namely 56 palms distributed in four lines with 14 palms in each line".

Habeeb pointed out that"palm trees receive special care through watering, cleaning, pollination, fertilization, maintenance, and agricultural pest control with the finest pesticides".
