The Al-Abbas's (P) Holy Shrine holds Al-Ghadeer Annual Festival for the third year in row in collaboration with the University of Al-Mustansiriyah..

Within its communicative program with Iraqi universities and academic institutions, and on the occasion of the glorious Eid Al-Ghadeer, the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine in collaboration with the University of Al-Mustansiriyah started the events of the third Al-Ghadeer annual festival set up within the project of Al-Kafeel national youth. The opening ceremony was held at the Hall of Shaheed Al-Mihraab in the cited university on Monday 18th of Dhu Al-Hijjah 1435 AH corresponding to the 13th of October, 2014, which will run for three days.

The opening ceremony began with verses of the holy Quran followed by the Iraqi national anthem, then the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine's anthem (pride's melody), the ceremony was attended by the university lecturers, professors and students, led by its President Dr. Falah Hassan Al-Asadi, in addition to high-level delegation from the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine led by the Deputy Secretary-General of the holy shrine; the Engineer Basheer Mohammed Jassem.

Then, Prof. Dr. Falah Hassan Al-Asadi; the president of Al-Mustanisiriyah University delivered his word, in which after presenting the congratulations to the present and the lovers and followers of Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them) on the occasion of the greatest Eid of God; Eid Al-Ghadeer, he expressed his thanks and appreciation to the role played by the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine in communicating with the academic institutions by investing the various religious occasions. He gave a brief overview of the history of this glorious day.

Followed by the word of the General Secretariat of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, delivered by the Deputy Secretary-General of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; the Engineer Basheer Mohammed Jassem. in which after presenting the congratulations for this blessed occasion, he explained the importance of this great day of Eid Al-Ghadeer.

Then, the Islamic Researcher Dr. Dalim Jari has presented research about this occasion under the title: "Eid Al-Ghadeer and maintaining the Shari'a."

After this, a documentary film about the manufacturing of the new shrine's grid of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) was displayed, a project conducted by the personnel of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine at its factory for the manufacture of holy shrines and sanctuaries' grids. Finally the ceremony was concluded by the distribution of gifts and appreciation certificates for both parties: (the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and Al-Mustansiriyah University.)

The attendees then went to the opening of the Book Fair, in which the holy shrines of Imam Al-Hussayn, Imam Al-Kadhem and Al-Abbas (peace be upon them) in addition to the secretariat of the holy mosque of Kufa have participated, by including their intellectual and literary publications to be accessible to university student and attendees of the fair. The festival has included the establishment of an event for first aid skills (CPR) of the Department of Human development in the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, and within the evening festival events, Al-Mustanisiriyah University Stadium received a football match between the team of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and the team of Al-Mustanisiriyah University, followed by a distribution of appreciation gifts to the players from both teams.
